Kinoshita has photographed many Japanese musicians from their stage debut, including Kazushi Ono, Midori Goto, Yutaka Sado, and Akiko Suwanai.
He has also taken many treasured shots of late musicians such as Takashi Asahina, Hideo Saito, and Akeo Watanabe, following the development of classical music in Japan over half a century through photographs both on stage and off.
He has photographed Seiji Ozawa, pictured here, since the 1970s, and has already published five books of his photographs.
